Since PCAM is celebrating its 80th convention, we wanted to think BIG for our guest list, so we actually did ask magic legend David Copperfield to stop by. He politely said he’d be busy with his MGM show all August, and wished us well. But he did send us something to make it up..

David Regal is a television writer and a creator of effects for magicians. His background is live comedy, as a ;member of the main company of Chicago City Limits. Since moving to the Los Angeles area he has served as head writer for Nickelodeon’s Rugrats, and has written for many sitcoms, including multiple episodes for Everybody Loves Raymond.In addition, magic effects of his design are performed around the world.

At the age of 16 James Holguin was admitted into one of the most prestigious magic organizations for young magicians in the country, The Academy of Magical Arts (The Magic Castle) Junior Society. It was here where James would learn from some of the greats in magic and develop his own style of magic. He developed an act that was set to 1940’s big band music and he would manipulate doves, cards and billiard balls all while dressed in an authentic purple Zoot Suit. This act became one of his trademarks and made him into an award winning magician.
We had a hiccup as we ended off our last day of PCAM 2013 Early registration, so in case some people got caught in between getting the best deal for 2013, and seeing our goofup, we are offering a few more hours to offer all PCAM has to offer for $150, but once it’s done, the early bird is done. Here are the rules that all competitors in the PCAM General Contests must agree to, and by entering the contest you are acknowledging that you have read and understood these conditions:
In between your jam sessions, lectures and sleep, you will need to eat. Sometimes quickly as you scramble to the next contest, or at a more leisurely pace with a large group of fellow magicians - or even a late night snack. There are quite a few places just across the street as well as across town to fuel your magic.
As some of you are making your hotel reservations your PCAM 2013 trip, you may consider staying a few extra days earlier/later in Los Angeles and Burbank, which are full of magical things to do.
